The injury misery at Eintracht Braunschweig continues: BTSV will probably have to do without a key player until the end of the year. Sports director Benjamin Kessel gives an update.

Lino Tempelmann remains unlucky in the current second division season. The Eintracht Braunschweig midfielder will apparently be out for a longer period of time again. “Unfortunately, we no longer expect Lino Tempelmann to return this year,” said sports director Benjamin Kessel in an interview published on the BTSV website on Tuesday.

Tempelmann is currently undergoing “thorough examinations in Munich” and will probably be absent for several weeks, said Kessel. At the start of the season, Tempelmann had already missed four games due to an ankle injury. Now the 26-year-old is slowed down by knee problems. He was not part of coach Heiner Backhaus’ squad against VfL Bochum last Sunday (0-2).

Tempelmann is one of the central players at Eintracht. Last season, after his loan move from FC Schalke 04 to Braunschweig, he played a decisive role in BTSV’s survival in the 2nd Bundesliga. Eintracht finally signed Tempelmann firmly. In the current season he made eight appearances due to injury.
