In the documentary, arrest warrant’s mother is not seen in front of the camera, and the deceased father is generally more in focus. Now the rapper has spoken out about his mother.

“Babo – The Arrest Warrant Story” has been available on Netflix since October 28th. Since then, there has been a lot of coverage about the documentary – about how much cocaine Mr. Warrant has consumed, what his family life is like, who is in the documentary and who is not. The absence of the mother was particularly noticeable.

Director Juan Moreno gave an explanation in an interview with “Spiegel”. Moreno, who co-directed the film with Sinan Sevinç, explained that Arrest’s mother herself asked not to be filmed – a wish that Moreno and his team respected.

Arrest warrant words to his mother

How does Aykut Anhan, Arrest Warrant’s real name, see the matter? He has now briefly commented on this on Instagram.

The rapper, who turns 40 in December, dedicated a few words to his mother in his Instagram story. The first sentence already indicates that it won’t stay that way. Specifically, arrest warrant writes: “I will say something more about my mom, but one thing is already certain: no words in the world can even come close to reflecting what she has achieved and does every day.”

He’s not done with that yet. On a black background and with white writing, he lets his followers know: “She is the queen in the midst of all the storms, the heart that never tires of loving, the quiet strength that holds everything together when others would have long since broken.”

Capo also honors his mother

Aykut Anhan wasn’t the only one who praised his mother. His younger brother, rapper Capo, also wanted to pay respect to her after the release of “Babo – The Arrest Warrant Story”. In an Instagram story, he wrote that she was “the true heroine of this story” and added: “No picture, no sentence, no film in this world can show what you really are.”

The planned interview did not take place

Arrest warrant’s mother was supposed to appear in the documentary. An interview with her was firmly planned and the filming was prepared – but it never came to fruition. Shortly before the appointment, arrest warrant’s mother apologized in a voice message to Juan Moreno and explained that she was finding it difficult to discuss certain personal topics. Moreno said in the “Spiegel” interview: “We drove off and then she asked me in a heartwarming voice message whether I could maybe forego showing her in the film because it would be too difficult for her to talk about her late husband and the condition of her son. And I think you have to respect that.” He further explained: “The mother is a terrific, great woman. […] She didn’t come as a supposed cleaner, as many might think. […] She was a very, very successful rower, rowed for Beşiktaş in Istanbul and was incredibly successful.”

The loss of the father

While the mother is hardly mentioned in the documentary, “Babo – The Arrest Warrant Story” deals in detail with arrest warrant’s confrontation with the loss of his father. Jelal Anhan suffered from depression and committed suicide.
