Dayot Upamecano is once again cautious about his future at FC Bayern: “I have a good advisor. We will make the right decision. I am concentrating on this season and my goals with the club and the national team,” the 27-year-old told the French newspaper “L’Équipe”.
The central defender’s contract expires in the summer. The media associates him with Real Madrid, among others.
Upamecano himself emphasized: “I’ve always said that I feel comfortable at Bayern. I have a great coach and great teammates.” When asked about possible transfer rumors, he said: “I’m under contract with Bayern. I feel honored when clubs are interested in me.”
Bayern sports director Christoph Freund recently made a clear statement about the personnel. “It’s no secret that our big goal is to extend the contract with Upa. And it’s not surprising that many clubs are interested in Upa because he simply performs really, really well,” said Freund on Friday.
