Before the duel against EL Salvador, Germany was under pressure. After the final whistle it is clear: the team is through – and even wins the group.
Defending champions Germany have made it to the knockout rounds at the U17 World Cup in Qatar. On the last matchday in Group G, coach Marc-Patrick Meister’s team dismantled the bottom-placed El Salvador 7-0 (3-0).
90th minute +4: Final whistle. The referee ends the game. Germany wins 7-0 against El Salvador and advances to the round of 16 as winners of Group G.
90th minute: There are four minutes on top.
89th minute: A free kick from Mensah leaves Vali Fard alone at the far post. He gets free to head the ball – but only hits the post.
84th minute: Goal for Germany! The team comes over the left side again. A shot from Scheller lands at Prenaj, who holds out his foot and powerfully nets it. Germany and Colombia both have five points, the DFB team benefits from the better goal difference and will win the group.
80th minute: Germany has now slowed down a bit. Mike finished again, but Sigernes was able to parry. By the way, that was his last action in the game. El Salvador will be eliminated from the tournament and will give some players a few more minutes.
72nd minute: The next changes are coming up. Benno Kaltefleiter is now on the pitch for Hawighorst. Elias Vali Fard replaces Kaba.
69th minute: Goal for Germany! Joker Eickel is allowed again. The Paderborn player presses on the halfway line and, with additional pressure from Prenaj, wins the ball for Germany. Prenaj sends Eickel running, the striker runs alone towards El Salvador’s keeper and scores to make it 6-0.
64th minute: There is the next interruption. Ramirez is on the ground after a hard fight. But he can carry on. Germany uses the time to make a double change: Lasse Eickel and Toni Langsteiner are now in the game for Staff and Akumu.
60th minute: Suddenly the referee is on the screen. A cross from El Salvador into the German box apparently lands on the hand of Is. According to the pictures, however, the referee decides against an illegal handball and thus against a penalty for the outsider.
