The search for a coach at SV Wehen Wiesbaden is over. As the third division soccer team announced on Monday, Daniel Scherning will succeed Nils Döring, who was dismissed at the end of October.

The former Eintracht Braunschweig coach will receive a contract with the Hessians until 2028. Scherning is scheduled to lead his first training session on Tuesday.

The 42-year-old had been the coach of the second division club Braunschweig until mid-May, but had to vacate his position there before the relegation relegation win against 1. FC Saarbrücken.

Scherning also knows the third division from his time at VfL Osnabrück, for whom he was on the sidelines for 40 games. Wiesbaden is currently in 13th place in the table.
