Barcelona’s legendary home stadium Camp Nou has been under renovation since 2023. Now the massive update operation is coming to an end.
My followers Lionel Messi stopped by his old home stadium on Sunday night to see what Camp Nou looks like. On Monday, he published pictures of his visit.
– Last night I returned to a place that I miss with all my soul. To the place where I was infinitely happy and where you made me feel like the happiest person in the world, Messi writes on the side of the photo compilation.
At the end of the update, the sports legend dropped another small hint that made the fans go wild.
– I hope that one day I can come back, and not just to say goodbye to you as a player, because I never got to do that either…
Messi’s post already gathered more than 3.5 million likes in an hour.
– We can’t wait for you to return home, one fan also commented on the update.
Messi played his first official match in Barcelona’s representative team back in 2004, when he was only 17 years old. The man represented the Catalan giant until 2021, when he transferred to his current club Inter Miami via PSG.
Messi played a total of 520 matches in Barcelona and scored 474 goals in them.
