Toyota said at a press conference on Monday that the Swede is a second-generation rally driver Oliver Solberg will drive the team’s Rally1 car next season.

Toyota had to find a new driver because Kalle Rovanperä recently announced that his rally career will end this season.

In addition to Solberg, he will drive in Toyota colors next season Elfyn Evans, Takamoto Katsuta, Sami Pajari and Sébastien Ogier.

The 24-year-old Solberg won the Rally2 class championship with Toyota this season. In addition, he got to show his skills on the side of the main league in the Estonian competition. That’s when the young Swede gassed up for a sensational victory.

Solberg is a familiar name to rally people, because his father Petter Solberg50, is the world champion of the sport from 2003.
