About an hour later it happened at the Van Konijnenburgstraat in Haarlem. When the emergency services arrived, it turned out that a car was on fire. The fire also damaged two cars parked nearby.
Around 2.20 am things went wrong again in Haarlem, this time on Wim van Eststraat. There too, the rushed fire brigade could not prevent a van from going up in flames. Another car was also damaged.
Arson not excluded
It is not yet clear how the fires started, but arson cannot be ruled out, a police spokesperson said. That is now being investigated.
