Dutch swallow criticism in the workplace: ‘Manager’s role is greater than expected, give people the feeling of being heard’

One in five workers is confronted with some form of transgressive behavior, figures from TNO and CBS showed. At De Wereld Draait Door and The Voice of Holland, for example, these figures were given a face and the public debate about safe working was stimulated. “But,” says writer Hans van der Loo of the book Safe Together, “what followed were reactions such as: ‘You are not allowed to do anything these days’.”
