The Füchse Berlin easily reached the quarter-finals of the DHB Cup. The German champions clearly won against their Bundesliga rivals ThSV Eisenach with 38:22 (22:12) in front of 3,796 spectators in the Max-Schmeling-Halle at home.

The best Berlin throwers were Tobias Grondahl and Mathias Gidsel with six goals each. At Eisenach, Oskar Joelsson scored five goals. In the quarter-finals, the Füchse will now meet THW Kiel at home. This was the result of the draw immediately after the game.

The hosts made it clear from the start who was the master of their own house. The Berliners immediately dominated the game, acted variably in attack and allowed little in defense. In addition, keeper Dejan Milosavljev was there when necessary. After around six and a half minutes, the Berliners were already leading 6-0. The overwhelmed guests had to wait over seven minutes for their first goal.

Coach Krickau can rest top stars early on

They tried to stop the Foxes’ attack with more offensive coverage, but they took advantage of the space and played even more wide. After almost 24 minutes, the lead reached double digits for the first time (19:9). The Foxes only had to survive one scary moment in the first half: when Lasse Andersson slipped and slightly twisted his knee. The Dane was then able to take part again.

The game had already been decided at halftime, but the Berliners didn’t let up at first and extended their lead to 30:16 with 14 minutes to go. After that, coach Nicolej Krickau was able to rest his top stars early on and young talents were given a chance.
