Rob Trip has Suzanne Bosman by far outclassed as a debate leader on television. The NOS star led the Final Debate much better than she led the EenVandaag debate. “A very strict debate leader.”

It was one big cacophony: the EenVandaag debate on Monday evening, led by Suzanne Bosman, was almost impossible for viewers at home to follow. How it can be done, Rob Trip proved last night during the NOS Final Debate. He did have all the party leaders under control and that led to a political debate that could be followed by the viewers at home.

‘Rob is a professional’

RTL Boulevard star Luuk Ikink has watched and is very enthusiastic. “Everyone listens to Rob Trip. This results in a very clear, good debate,” he writes X. “’Gentlemen, DO NOT TOGETHER!!’, I will use that immediately tomorrow during the first morning squabble between the children.”

Radio DJ Pierre Papa then: “And the most substantive debate.”

Journalist Rens Muller: “Rob Trip is a professional.”

Strict debate leader

Media critic Victor Vlam is also satisfied. “Rob Trip is a very strict debate leader. He did not hesitate to stand in front of Jimmy Dijk when he wanted to address the camera. But it is effective because politicians do listen to him.”

A certain Ben then said: “Okay, but Rob Trip is also a very well-known face of the NOS and must therefore have built up some authority. But indeed also a capable man for leading debates.”

One moment

Rob Trip only renounced at the end, says former PvdA leader Wouter Bos Pauw & De Wit. “I thought Rob Trip, with the exception of one moment where he cut Henri Bontenbal off too early at the end, did very well.”

The contrast with Suzanne Bosman is enormous, says Victor. He says: “It was a messy debate over which she had no control. That’s just not good for the moderator.”

‘Rob wins’

Finally: who does Victor think is the winner of the debate? “Jetten is having another good evening. I dare to predict it. D66 will win and Jetten will be the next prime minister.”

The right-wing conservative Story boss Guido den Aantrekker then: “Horror scenario. But even better than Timmermans.”
