The candidate for national senator Forward, Facundo Manesvoted this morning at Colegio No. 2 Domingo F. Sarmiento, in the center of the City of Buenos Aires, and called to “renew hope” through voting. “The country needs a new hope to be born,” he expressed after casting his vote.
The neurologist highlighted the relevance of this election day: “We Argentines deserve better. During the campaign we saw all the vices of the old politics: insults, accusations, shady financing, cross operations. It is time to give a different message.”
Manes insisted that “voting always renews hope” and stressed that the election is an opportunity to “say enough to cruelty and corruption”“But we don’t want to go back to the past either. Get out of your houses, come vote. Don’t let others decide your future. “Today we voted forward, today a new stage begins,” he said.
The radical reference heads the list of Forwarda space that seeks to present itself as a different option to Kirchnerism and La Libertad Avanza. He is accompanied by Carla Pitiot, vice president of the Éforo Foundation and former national deputy, as his running mate, and the lawyer Sergio Abrevaya as the first candidate for deputy.
For Manes, the midterm elections are also an opportunity to reaffirm faith in democracy. “Voting is one of the most beautiful acts of our republican life. It cost us blood and tears to be able to decide freely. Let’s take care of that right, but let’s demand more. We cannot accept that politics lives on the margins while people suffer,” he said.
The leader He assured that his space “competes against two castes: that of the past and that of the present”and that he does it together with “ordinary Argentines who do not resign themselves to disenchantment or impotence.” Along these lines he added: “We do not vote for bosses or emperors, we vote for our children, for our friends, for the future. We vote for Argentina.”
During the campaign, the neuroscientist prioritized meetings with civil society. “In every city and town I heard the same diagnosis: the people are exhausted and without hope. And from those in power, they ask us for one more effort. But the effort must begin with them. Enough of corruption, dark financing, fights for the tribune”, he stated.
Finally, Manes closed his message with a promise of continuity: “I am here to represent Argentines who want a better future. We are going to work together with civil society to create jobs, lower taxes and carry out works that transform people’s lives. Forward “It doesn’t end today: it starts today.”
