The Munich team is still looking for reinforcements for the coming season. The focus is now apparently on a top performer at a Premier League club. There is said to have already been concrete contact.

FC Bayern is positioning itself to court Marc Guéhi – and is taking a concrete step. According to information from Sky Sport, sports director Max Eberl met with the England international’s agent in Munich last week. The Munich team has thus underlined their interest in Crystal Palace’s central defender.

Guéhi is one of the regular players at Palace under coach Oliver Glasner. The central defender’s contract expires in the summer of 2026 and he could leave the club for a free transfer. A planned move to Liverpool FC last summer fell through at the last few meters.

The 25-year-old is not only in demand with the German record champions. Liverpool are also said to continue to be interested in the defender, as is Spanish record champions Real Madrid.

According to Sky, Guéhi should be Munich’s first option in the event of Dayot Upamecano or Min-jae Kim leaving. Upamencano’s contract expires after the current season and the Frenchman has yet to make a decision. Kim is said to be dissatisfied with his situation at the club.

Guéhi moved from Chelsea to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021 for around 23.3 million euros. He has since played 140 competitive games for the Eagles, scoring seven goals and providing six assists. He has made 26 appearances for the English national team so far.
