The superstar talked about his future plans.
Lionel Messi won’t be hanging up his boots for years to come. PDO
Lionel Messi continues his football career at Inter Miami. The club announces that it has signed a three-year contract extension with the 38-year-old football superstar.
The long-negotiated contract was announced in a video, the caption of which read “he’s at home” in Finnish.
Messi moved to the MLS club in 2023 from the French club PSG. Messi has been a valuable addition not only to his club on the field, but also to the MLS league thanks to his huge media presence.
Messi’s skills are still there. Last MLS season, he was voted the league’s most valuable player, and he is expected to bag the same award this year as well.
Skills also have their price. Messi is estimated to have earned a good 20 million dollars in his previous contract, i.e. around 17.5 million euros annually, without various goal and other success bonuses alone.
Messi, who has won everything in his football career, has not only the world championship, but also eight Ballon d’Or awards, which are awarded annually to the best football player in the world. He won the Champions League four times with Barcelona and La Liga ten times.
