Kasperi Kapanen is out of the Edmonton Oilers lineup for several weeks, reports Sportsnet.

Kapanen was injured on Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings and missed the game. Oilers head coach Chris Knoblauch gave additional information about the Finnish striker’s injury to reporters on Tuesday.

It is not known exactly what kind of injury Kapanen is suffering from.

Kapanen has scored 0+2 in six matches this season. He moved from the St. Louis Blues to Edmonton midway through last season.

Last season, the Finnish striker scored five hits in 57 games for the Oilers and completed eight assists that led to goals.
