Borussia Dortmund – After more than two years: BVB home game sold out

Dortmund (AP) – For the first time in 763 days, Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Dortmund is again playing a home game in a sold-out stadium.

The second in the table announced that all 81,365 places were taken for the match on April 2 (6:30 p.m. / Sky) against fourth-placed RB Leipzig. For more than two years, the number of viewers was limited due to the corona pandemic in Germany.

“The last tickets were sold out in the free sale on Monday. We are looking forward to 81,365 spectators in the most beautiful stadium in the world!”, wrote the club on its website. The game takes place under the 3G rule. That means the fans must be vaccinated, recovered or tested.

Nevertheless, BVB recommended “wearing the mask wherever distances cannot be maintained”. Masks are still mandatory in the hospitality area. Spectators should arrive early.

The Dortmund team last played against SC Freiburg (1-0) on February 29, 2020 in front of full stands in their own arena. The Signa Iduna Park is the stadium with the largest spectator capacity in Germany.
