Inflation rose to 5.7 percent in December compared to a year ago. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), which released the figures, higher food and energy prices in particular caused inflation to rise further. Over the whole of 2021, life in the Netherlands became 2.7 percent more expensive.
