The production of the special forces program commented to Iltalehte about the record number of donors.

A record number of celebrities have left the Special Forces. Four

Special forces– during the fourth production season of the program, a record number of celebrities have given up already at the beginning. In the first days of the camp, a total of six probationers gave up.

Already on the first day, the sprinters gave up Markus Pöyhönena musician Archie Cruzpodcast host Aleksi Rantamaa and a fashion and clothing designer Mauro Severino. Later, the competition was also interrupted by a social media influencer Mikael Renwall and miss Tiia Aalto.

The trainer commented

Matias Petäistöone of the program’s trainers, tells Iltalehte that some of the tasks this season may be tougher than previous ones. According to Petäistö, the tasks are basically not difficult at the beginning of the camp.

– So there has been some weak material there [luovuttajien] among. There have been really easy surrenders, especially at the beginning of the season, says the trainer.

– Everyone can tell that if after 15–30 minutes you start walking in the middle of a jog, then there is something wrong with your attitude.

Petäistö emphasizes that it is not claimed that the majority of surrenders are due to the attitudes of the probationers alone. In his opinion, some of the handovers of the season have just been really “easy”.

According to Petäistö, the production has at no point told the trainers to be more merciful to the test subjects due to the large number of donors. However, he admits that the number of donors has some influence on the decisions of their trainers.

– Of course, it’s clear when making a TV series that we can’t throw everyone out of the camp during the first two days. Otherwise, the program will not be made, Petäistö says with a laugh.

– If for one reason or another a group suddenly leaves, we do look at what are the real reasons for giving up and sometimes we have to react to them. Our trainers also have to keep common sense with them, he adds.

Petäistö is aware that the production is doing its best when it comes to the selection of auditionees, and according to his understanding, the selection process has improved significantly from before. However, he has a suggestion for production to improve the level of experimenters.

– Such a “non-celebrity season” would also be interesting. In the second season, the level could be raised drastically higher.

Matias Petäistö would like for the special forces program to have a so-called “white season” where there are no celebrities competing. Four

Petäistö justifies his position with the fact that in Finland there would certainly be more people available for Special Forces than celebrities.

– They could possibly be given decent selection tests before the camp. Finland is a small country and there are a certain number of celebrities here, so of course the level is that. That level can’t be the same as the ones applying for that.

– It’s clear that the Tavis are just as capable of being jerks and traitors as celebrities. It wouldn’t change that in any way.

Petäistö says that there has been a discussion with the production company from the beginning.

– But I also understand that this is the reason why this is done with celebrities: they are already well-known and interesting people. So it’s different than if there were strangers there. I’m not the right person to judge how successful the second season would be, he states.

The production commented

Iltalehti reached the responsible producer of the program Alex Laszlo to tell if this season’s tasks are tougher compared to previous seasons. Laszlo has a clear answer to this.

– The tasks are tough every season. For some, heavy exercise is too much, and for others, for example, tight spaces. It often happens that there are more people leaving the early season when there is a larger group, so we are not surprised, Laszlo states.

– Over the years, we have also seen a lot of experimentalists who we thought would be among the first to leave, but have nevertheless stayed with us for a long time and the other way around. That is, those who are believed to go far, but have left early for one reason or another, he adds.

According to Laszlo, despite giving up, the subjects have said that they are satisfied with their participation in the program.

– Everyone knows what they are getting into, so the attitude is right when they come to the camp, he states.

Are you going to change the difficulty of the tasks or experiment with your selection method in order to avoid such turnovers?

– The tasks will not be made easier, but this will continue to be the most popular reality show in Finland, Laszlo answers.
