Students from HAVO 5 come to tell me that Herman Koch’s choice book The Dinner is out in our school library.
On my day off I decide to take a look at the local thrift store. I find four copies. When paying, the sales associate beams at me: “You’re really lucky. The cookbooks are all 50 percent off today!”
