Arklyz AG secures the German shoe supplier Gabor.
The Swiss group Arklyz, which also includes retailers The Athlete’s Foot and Asphaltgold as well as the shoe brand Lloyd, has signed a binding agreement to acquire Gabor Shoes GmbH including all operating subsidiaries, Gabor announced on Thursday. It was agreed not to disclose the financial details of the takeover.
“This acquisition represents an important milestone in Arklyz’s journey to become a global leader in the premium footwear segment,” said Arklyz CEO Param Singh. “Gabor’s proven product expertise and established brand identity, combined with Arklyz’s global capabilities, create a strong foundation for future business growth.”
Strengthen international presence
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Gabor’s international presence, which already exists in over 60 countries, and to expand its digital and direct-to-consumer channels. In addition, operational synergies should be created in the areas of sourcing, design and brand management.
Even after the takeover, Gabor will continue to operate as an independent brand and under the leadership of the existing management structure. This is intended to ensure the continuity of operational business and preserve the brand identity.
“The merger with Arklyz opens up exciting new opportunities for Gabor,” said Gabor CEO Stefan Blöchinger. “We look forward to working closely together as we continue to stay true to our commitment to quality, comfort and design excellence.”
Completion of the takeover is subject to antitrust approvals and other customary closing conditions.
