Bomfunk MC’s Euro hit Freestyler played at Madrid’s Movistar Arena.

The sports hall’s DJ was probably aware of the historic situation, because just before the Finnish band’s classic blared from the speakers, the head coach of the away team Partizan Željko Obradović had given the team super promise Miikka Muurinen the youngster’s first playing minutes in the Euroleague.

Muurinen’s first change in Europe’s toughest basketball league lasted three minutes and 29 seconds. During that time, he made one long throw, but missed the third.

The home team Real Madrid ran away in the match at the very beginning. It led by 19 points already at the break, and Partizan’s streak started far too late.

It got within four points at the end, but then the hosts Trey Lyles and Theo Maledon returned a safe distance with their baskets.

Muurinen did not return to the field. In the end, Real Madrid registered a home victory with a score of 93–86.

Partizan’s Euro tour continues already on Friday, when it meets Hanno Möttölän of the old club Saski Baskonia in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque Country.
