The first two without problems with Chieri and San Giovanni. Successes also for Milan (Egonu 25 points) and Perugia. Comeback and tie-break victory for Florence

October 15th – 11.45pm – MILAN

MILAN-VALLEFOGLIA 3-1 (26-24, 19-25, 25-21, 25-16)

A victory with some darkness, but also a lot of light in Milan, 3-1 over Vallefoglia. Lavarini’s team adapts to the distance to the match, alternating Piva and Pietrini in place 4 but once again finding Egonu (after a negative start) and Lanier as protagonists on a par with MVP Fersino. The Megabox starts well, with a good defensive block, but in the long run it fades in attack, due to some problems in the direction, also nullifying a good start.

Milan: Egonu 25 points, Muri team 9, Ace team 4 (Egonu 3).

Vallefoglia: Bike 20 points, Team Walls 7, Team Ace 3.

NOVARA-CHIERI 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-20)

Novara’s show of strength, still without Tolok, closed 3-0 with Chieri taking first place alone with full points. At PalaIgor it’s a battle as expected, and the key comes in the second set, when Bernardi’s team cancels two set points thanks to Igiede and takes a 2-0 lead. MVP is Leonardi, but the whole team appears cohesive. For Chieri some problems in reception and a half step back compared to the victory against Milan.

Novara: Alsmeier 14 points, Muri team 5, Ace team 2.

Chieri: Nemeth 16 points, Muri team 5, Ace team 2.

SAN GIOVANNI IN MARIGNANO-CONEGLIANO 0-3 (12-25, 19-25, 16-25)

Conegliano liquidated the San Giovanni in Marignano practice in 74 minutes, finishing 0-3 and leaving just 47 points to the former Ortolani’s team. There is a fight only in the second set up to 18-19, but the Panthers make no mistakes in the final, superior in everything, with an attack that is almost twice as effective as the opponent’s throughout the match (50% against 27%). For Imoco (who leaves Gabi rested) the MVP is Haak, while for the Romagna team the evening is to be forgotten.

St. John: Kochurina, Caruso 6 points, Muri team 3, Ace team 1.

Conegliano: Haak 16 points, Muri team 4, Ace team 2.

Cuneo-Scandicci 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 26-24)

Blame from the cats who defeat the battleship Savino del Bene 3-0 within the friendly walls of the Cuneo sports hall. Masterful match for the Piedmontese team who, after having dominated two sets (in the second with even 14 set points available), managed to recover the gap that Scandicci had gained in the third, finishing with Erika Pritchard, top scorer (18 points) together with Kate Antropova and MVP of the match. First three-point victory for Cuneo, bad day for Scandicci who never managed to get into the game. Pucelj (14 points with 50% attack) and Diop (14 with 4 aces) also did very well.

Wedge: Pritchard 18 points, team blocks 14 (5 Pritchard), team aces 6 (4 Diop)

Scandicci: Antropova 18 points, team blocks 4, team aces 5 (3 Antropova)

Busto Arsizio-Bergamo 3-2 (25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 16-25, 16-14)

A swing of emotions at the E Work Arena in Busto Arsizio where the home sextet (leading 2-0) was joined by Bergamo, went down 11-14 in the tie-break and then managed to take home the match 16-14. Obossa did very well in the offensive phase (19 points) for Uyba, while Kipp (18), Cese Montalvo and Mlejnkova (both 16) did well for the guests. It is Barbolini’s girls, therefore, who prevail in the Lombard derby and gain 2 points which allow them to reach 3 in the rankings. Bergamo, thanks to today’s point, goes to 4.

Bust: Obossa 19 points, team blocks 13, team aces 2 Bergamo: Kipp 18 points, team blocks 16 (6 Kipp), team aces 4 (3 Manfredini).

Perugia-Pinerolo 3-1 (25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20)

Perugia took home the three points in the match against Pinerolo played at Pala Barton. The home team made the most of their opportunities, with Gardini on top (22 points) doing well to earn yet another MVP title. The Piedmontese made many mistakes, thirty-three, too many to hope to achieve anything more in this match. For Moviso, Davyskiba does what he can (16 points and a good reception phase) together with Malual and D’odorico. The Black Angels move to 5 points in the standings, while Pinerolo remains stuck at 3.

Perugia: Gardini 22 points, team blocks 9 (4 Mazzaro), team aces 0

Pinerolo: Davyskiba 16 points, team blocks 9, team aces 3.

Florence-Macerata 3-2 (20-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-11)

Bisonte manages to recover a match that now seemed to be Macerata’s prerogative, going on to win in the tie-break. At the Pala Big Mat the Chiavegatti girls find the strength to react with pride and gain two precious points for the ranking, with the awareness of having great mental strength. Knollema (Mvp) leads the Tuscans in attack (25 points with 41%) together with Bukilic (17), while for the Marches the offensive performance of Kokkonen (27) and Decortes (21) is excellent. There are now 5 points in the standings for Bisonte Firenze, while Cbf Balducci Macerata has 2 points with the one gained today.

Florence: Knollema 25 points, team blocks 12, team aces 3

Macerata: Kokkonen 27 points, team blocks 4, team aces 2.
