There was a collective sigh of relief around the German national team in Sinsheim on Friday. In the 4-0 win against Luxembourg, the DFB team got off to a furious start, unlike in the first two qualifying games.
Early on, the course was set for victory against an overwhelmed opponent. However, the Nagelsmann team did not eliminate all doubts with their success.
Three of the four goals for Germany came from set pieces. Decimated guests from Luxembourg never really threatened the DFB team after a quick red card.
The challenge is now much greater against Northern Ireland. If they lose in Belfast, they could even fall back to third place in the qualifying group.
Who should the national coach put in the starting eleven? Which players belong on the bench? Vote here now and choose the DFB’s dream team for the Northern Ireland game!
