Astrid Holleeder claims to be very knowledgeable in the field of legal matters, but shuts down when Renze Klamer asks her some case-related questions in RTL Tonight. “That’s too technical now.”
We all know that Astrid Holleeder came on board at RTL Tonight mainly from the point of view of a publicity stunt. Willem Holleeder’s sister revealing her face has given the new talk show a lot of publicity, but now they are stuck with her. Unfortunately, there is little enthusiasm for her contributions, and the program is a flop.
Emotional Astrid
Astrid was ahead yesterday RTL Tonight present at the appeal against the three main suspects in the assassination attempt on crime journalist Peter R. de Vries. She came to talk about this in the evening on Renze Klamer’s talk show, but only talked about the emotional aspects of this case. And not about the content.
According to Astrid, it was very nice how Peter’s relatives spoke. They also have so much support for each other, she says, and the sadness? That remains. A lot of killers, but of course that doesn’t help the viewer much. He wants to know how long those suspects will be kept under lock and key.
‘I had doubts’
However, Astrid is constantly stuck with the emotion. She feels very involved in the case. “That’s why I had some doubts. I actually wanted to cancel at the last minute, because it’s not about me, it’s really about Peter.”
Surely no one thought this was about Astrid? Or is she just making herself so big in her head? Remarkably enough, it is Astrid herself who starts to talk in detail about her involvement with the family. “Crime has brought us together and also torn us apart.”
Lifelong
Well, on to the content: Renze would of course also want to know about that. “The Public Prosecution Service’s demand for the three main suspects is again a life sentence. That was the first time, they did not receive that, but a sentence of around thirty years. Were there any other notable things in the demands?”
Astrid is completely shocked by it. Contents?! Was that also the intention? She stammers: “Yes, some requirements have been adjusted slightly lower, but that also has to do with… In the first instance everything is much more emotional than in the second instance. Then the emotion is a bit off.”
‘I’m hitting tilt’
It’s clear that Astrid has no idea what to actually answer. “There were… But I have to be honest: I’m very happy that I was able to put all this into words, don’t ask me anything technical now, because I’m going on tilt.”
Renze: “Haha, okay, I’m glad you didn’t cancel and I’m really glad you’re here.”
Astrid: “Me too. Thank you.”
RTL Tonight had its least viewed broadcast ever yesterday.
