Klamer was on vacation in Curaçao when he heard that De Vooravond was not getting a third season. “I was on a boat in the water around Curaçao. I was standing with all happy people around me and then I had the director on the phone, who told me that the program was going to stop. The next morning an email went out,” he says. Due to the time difference between Curaçao and the Netherlands, Klamer’s family had to hear the news via a press release.

Right after the news, Klamer was “furious,” he says. “It was more of a surprise. You think: hey, what’s happening here?” The presenter had not foreseen a moment when De Vooravond would no longer be continued. “I expected that I would make that program for years to come.”
Eve was unexpectedly taken off the air by BnnVara due to ‘a lack of urgency’. “Urgency seems like a cool word to me, because we discussed the news of the day every day.” Klamer does not know why BnnVara decided to pull the plug on De Vooravond. “I couldn’t figure out the real reason. There’s no point in investigating it anymore. I can’t get the program back. It doesn’t make me happier if I’m working on it all day. So what’s in it for me?”
RTL
On Tuesday it was announced that Klamer will start working at RTL. He has signed a two-year contract. The presenter can be seen on the channel with his own talk show from August. The program can then be seen on RTL 4 every working day throughout the month.
Klamer himself took the initiative to knock on the door of Peter van der Vorst, RTL’s program director. The presenter called Van der Vorst and he was pleasantly surprised, the TV director told Tuesday RTL Boulevard† What Klamer will do next will be announced later. “There are plans, but I can’t name titles or specific programs yet.”
