Minister of Environment and Energy Inés Manzano has reported an attempted assassination of Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa. Noboa’s car was surrounded by a group of about 500 people throwing stones as he approached an event in Cañar province. According to the minister, “traces of bullet damage” were subsequently found on the president’s car.
