The expectation was that Renze Klamer might be able to give RTL Tonight a push, but nothing could be further from the truth. “Never before watched so few people.”
It is unquestionable: of the three talk show hosts that RTL 4 has at home, Renze Klamer is by far the most loved one. Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan are about twenty years older and no longer have the ambition that their younger colleague does. Renze actually was a bit like the last hope for the flopped RTL Tonight.
Never so low
Renze has been the weekday presenter of RTL Tonight since this week and that is not for nothing: he has received October, because then the parliamentary elections will take place. But even with Renze at the helm, the late talk show flop of RTL 4 does not find the way up. In fact: it is only getting worse.
The viewing figures are really bad, according to figures from Tina Nijkamp. She writes on her today analysis canal: “The bad news is for RTL Tonight. The talk show recorded 257 thousand viewers. The talk show never scored so low.”
‘This really is not possible’
The previous low -record of RTL Tonight was calculated on Prinsjesdag, when 258 thousand people watched. “The late start time of 22.47 hours did not help either, but then. This is just not the way it should have scored. Bales for the team too.”
She continues: “RTL 4 had a tough evening because Lubach also disappointed with 466 thousand viewers. Nearly 400 thousand viewers less than the simultaneously broadcast Pauw & De Wit (which had a record, ed.).”
The coming man
Johan Derksen still had good hope for Renze in his podcast on Monday. “Beau and Humberto do not have the appearance, do not have the binding character, do not have the gun factor. People are a bit bored with that and Renze is the coming man. That saves,” said the VI-star in Greetings from Grolloo.
Well, that may save substantive, but not in terms of viewing figures. The expectation is that TV boss Peter van der Vorst will continue with RTL Tonight for the time being. According to Albert Verlinde Vistdiep, he is even visiting the set every day. The question is whether he can still make objective decisions in this way …
“A table!”
According to Tina, the big problem of RTL Tonight remains that weird desk. “I get several DMs that the decor RTL Tonight will be adjusted slightly, but that there will be no table.”
She concludes: “Hopefully they will get to sentences and put a table there. That conversation with Mona Keijzer yesterday was again a remarkable setting? It is just not of course that desk.”
