He has achieved something that no German dart player has yet achieved: Martin Schindler is in the top 16 list in the world.

The German Darts professional Martin Schindler achieved a new career highlight at the weekend: for the first time, the 29-year-old is in the top 16 in the world rankings. From this Monday he will be officially led to 16th place – as far as there has been no German player.

Schindler benefited from a strong appearance at the European Tour tournament in Basel and left the Englishman Dave Chisnall behind in the ranking. In the Order of Merit, the Strausberger pushed himself directly behind the Scottish ex-world champion Peter Wright, who is known primarily in the scene through his striking clothing and the same hairstyles.

With the new placement, Schindler is automatically set for the World Grand Prix, which begins in a week. It is the best starting point in his career so far – and the development continues.

In the current calendar year, Schindler ranked ninth and has a good chance of moving even further until the World Cup in Alexandra Palace (December 11th to January 3). Even a place of the top ten seems to be realistic. Among other things, he could overtake the Welsh ex-world champion Gerwyn Price or Wright again.

Before the World Cup, two big tournaments are waiting: the European Championship in Dortmund (23rd to 26th October) and the Grand Slam of Darts (November 8th to 16th).
