Her mother was finally responsible for the fact that she added neo-soul artists like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu to their musical DNA. After a time in New York, she has now moved into Easton again because she is traveling most of the time anyway and the number of rent in a sinfully expensive city like New York is no longer worth it.

Maggie Rogers is a synaesthetician
Synesthesia is a phenomenon that describes the coupling of two or more modalities of perception. In plain language, this means: Maggie Rogers perceives tones as colored and thereby subconsciously creates complex links to the senses in their brain. Another frequent form of synesthesia is the connection of numbers or letters with colors. In families, several members are mostly sycutical and synestheticians, so that researchers assess the factor of genes in connection with synesthesia as enormously important. In addition, the ability to synaesthesia cannot be learned, but innate.
Psychater Markus Zedler says about synesthesia:
“”“Synesthesia is a luxury; a variety of evolution that allows awareness of generating more information by linking the senses and coupling with feelings. Scientific studies with imaging methods have shown that synestheticians have a complex networked brain.”“

Maggie Rogers sings about changes
The current album by Maggie Roger’s “Heard It In A Past Life” is about changes and transitions. Almost overnight, her private life became public and a lot of it felt that she was losing control of what was happening around her and with herself. Despite everything, it was of course also a wonderful experience. It took some time to organize all of this and to be aware that it felt right for her. The album treats this time and describes the transition from the normal student to a pop star.
