The result from the second division season is almost at the first division level from the season before when the Cologne team generated sales of EUR 159 million and a profit of EUR 11.8 million. “We have successfully completed the second division year in sports, also managed the challenging situation economically and fulfilled our financial obligations at any time on time and reliably,” said Türoff in the Müngersdorf stadium.
The association has returned to the Bundesliga “financially stable and capable of action” and received the license without any requirements. There were positive effects on sales side, among other things, through the transfers from Jeff Chabot to VfB Stuttgart and Jonas Urbig to FC Bayern, the income in the DFB Cup and record numbers in merchandising. In addition, contract extensions with important partners and the takeover of the catering in the stadium were added.
The FC also reduced the liabilities from 37.8 million to EUR 32.2 million. Equity increased from 26 million to EUR 29.4 million. “We want an operational healthy, capable and sporty successful FC and will continue to rely on a responsible commercial and sporting strategy in the future,” emphasized Türoff.
