The A58 motorway is closed for traffic in the Eindhoven driving direction between Oirschot and Batadorp junction. Rijkswaterstaat reported this on Friday evening around a quarter to nine. The cause of the blockage is an accident that had happened at Oirschot around half past eight.
The cause of the accident is unknown. It is clear, however, that two cars and a motorcycle were involved. It is unclear whether anyone was injured.
The road would only be released again when the cars and the engine were removed from the road. The road surface may also have to be restored.
A spokesperson for Rijkswaterstaat hopes that traffic can drive to Eindhoven again from half past ten. In the meantime, the ‘enclosed’ traffic is led along the part of the highway where the accident happened.
