A stroke at Christmas threatened to end his live career. Then he learned: there were four.

Vince Neil from Mötley Crüe did not have a stroke, but a total of four: The singer announced that the stroke he suffered on Christmas 2024 and who threatened to end his live career was just one of several in recent years.

In an interview with Siriusxm, Neil said: “I woke up and couldn’t get up. I wondered: ‘What’s going on?’ My left leg and my left arm no longer worked.

It was too late for medication

The aunt of Neil’s girlfriend, who has experience as a nurse and was present at the time, recognized the symptoms. At this point it was already too late for medication. “You said I had a blood clot in my left leg that extends to the brain,” said the singer.

He had to learn to walk again

Neil was then in rehab for months to enable him to return to the stage. “Slowly but surely the feeling came back in my legs. And I had to learn to walk again. I switched from a wheelchair to the walker and finally to the walking stick – now I can walk, but everything was unclear for five months and I didn’t know what would happen.”

He did not notice two strokes

During his recovery, Neil then found out that he had actually suffered four strokes in recent years. “I didn’t even know about two,” he told Siriusxm. “One of them was a slight stroke, and I just lost the feeling in my hand. That’s it. And I overcome that pretty quickly. But this last one was really violent.”

He did not notice the other two incidents. “I can’t remember any other, where I felt strange or something,” continued the musician.

A slow stage comeback

He admitted that he had returned to his solo tour. Currently, during the ten concerts of Mötley Crüe, Las Vegas Tour, 95 percent are doing well. “There are things that I still can’t do on stage. It is difficult to run on this stage. The stage is so huge. But I’m getting used to it.”
