The new book by Saskia Noort, Breath, is secretly a kind of settlement with her mean cousin Jan Roos. At least, Luuk Ikink speculates about that. “That could be very good,” it sounds.
Saskia Noort and Jan Roos, who are a full cousin and niece of each other, have been completely upset with each other for almost ten years. It started with a number of fitties on X, after which their contact was completely broken seven years ago. Five years ago their fight reached a boiling point because he would have thrown her parents private data online.
Tragic
The tragic low point took place during King’s Day 2023, when Jan and the 78-year-old father of Saskia fought each other in Bergen. Both men would have reported that; Her father is said to have ended up in the hospital. Jan called on his own website That the first blow was distributed by the elderly father of Saskia.
When Saskia was asked for that for the cameravan Shownieuws, she responded pretty uncomfortably: “My father is doing very well here. He is here too. And further … yes … we are now celebrating my book and I just don’t want to say that much about it. But he is doing well. He survived, I will say. And yes …”
Weather for the camera
Saskia was in front of a camera again yesterday, but then that of RTL Boulevard. She releases a new book: breath. “The idea was born for a TV series, but then the streamer went bankrupt, so then I took the idea back and I started working out as a book,” she says.
Family is an important source of inspiration for her books, she continues. “The inspiration for me was that since Corona a lot of families have fallen apart a bit because there are different truths in that family, that you can no longer come together. I think that is a very big theme of today.”
Supero
Daughter Julia Schellekens is next to it and states that this is a very honest book. “I think it’s fantastic and I think it’s very funny and super oppression. Maybe I think your fairest book.”
Saskia: “That could be, yes. I think so too.”
Why honest then? According to RTL Boulevard star Luuk Ikink is more behind it …
‘Inspired by Roos’
Luuk thinks the book is partly inspired by her mean cousin Jan Roos. “One of the storylines is a brother and that is an influencer and he makes people publicly ridiculed.”
“Then we thought: maybe there was some personal inspiration for that, because she has a cousin called Jan Roos and that is also influencer who regularly goes quite hard. Maybe that has been the inspiration for that brother in that book.”
Colleague Daphne Bunskoek: “That could be very good.”
