Elon Musk’s alienated father, Errol Musk, is faced with several allegations of the sexual abuse of children, The five of his children and stepchildren concern, as a new research by the “New York Times” reports.
First allegations in South Africa
The allegations against the 79-year-old Errol were documented in police reports, court files, personal letters and interviews with family members and social workers. The alleged incidents occurred both in South Africa, where Errol lives and in California.
Errol – who was neither accused nor convicted – rejected the allegations. Compared to the “Times”, he explained: “The reports are wrong and nonsense in the extreme.” He claimed that the family members had “found the children to say false things” to blackmail money from Elon.
Several accusations refer to a former stepdaughter of Errol’s marriage to Heidi-Mari Bezuidenhout, his third woman. The earliest incident is said to have occurred in 1993 when the girl, a daughter of a first marriage from Bezuidenhout, was four years old. Accordingly, Errol put them on a number of garbage cans and touched them immorally.
The stepdaughter told her aunt about the incident. These and other relatives reported the case to the authorities. An investigation was initiated, but the indictment was dropped in the course of the divorce agreement with Errol. (Bezuidenhout and Errol married and divorced twice.)
Allegations in the USA
Errol later claimed that after the divorce, a judge had granted him custody of his daughter with Bezuidenhout, and two judges rejected the stepdaughter’s allegations of abuse. However, the Times could not find the relevant documents or judges who were able to confirm this.
In 1999, Errol and Bezuidenhout married again. In 2002 they traveled to California to visit Elon, who bought a house in Malibu for two million dollars. During the stay, the stepdaughter, at the time 14 years old, caught Errol in her room, as he supposedly sniffed her worn underwear.
The police were called, a report submitted to the child protection authorities in Los Angeles. (A spokesman for the authority rejected a statement, the LAPD refused to publish documents.) According to three people, an injunction was imposed on Errol.
New allegations in the 2000s
Errol denied this and claimed that he had only cleaned up the room that was in “terrible condition”.
Afterwards, Elon is said to have shipped his father from the Malibu House on a boat and finally back to South Africa. Errol in turn claimed that he had voluntarily left the United States, but was soon financially dependent on Elon and his brother Kimbal.
While Elon supposedly considered keeping his father’s children and stepchildren in California and becoming her guardian, the family decided in 2003 to return to South Africa. In 2005, Errol and Bezuidenhout divorced again, in 2009 they approached again. At this time, the stepdaughter was now 21, she claimed that Errol kissed her and put his tongue in her mouth.
Protection order in South Africa
She described the incident in an application for temporary protection in South Africa. In it, she wrote about Errol: “I don’t want him to come close to me.” The application was approved.
Errol denied this and claimed that the stepdaughter “kissed him inappropriately” while slept.
As adults, the stepdaughter fought with drug addiction and homelessness. She said her drug use was related to the trauma of her childhood. While Elon temporarily supported her from afar, she also turned to Errol at the age of 29. The two became intimate and got at least one child together. (The stepdaughter speaks of a child, Errol spoke in other interviews of several. When asked by the Times, he said that “nobody was concerned with how many there are”.)
In 2022, Errol is said to have touched the five -year -old son together, according to family members. Bezuidenhout wrote to a relative in 2023: “He said: ‘Papa tatters his back.’ He shouted: ‘No dad!’ “A police investigation was opened, but the public prosecutor’s office dropped the case due to a lack of evidence.
Further accusations
Errol declared the accusation: “There was no evidence because it is nonsense.”
In the application for temporary protection, the stepdaughter also claimed that Errol had misused one of her stepshons, who later died in a car accident, as well as the two daughters he had with inflammatory hout.
In a letter to Elon around 2007, Bezuidenhout mentioned allegations of abuse of one of her daughters, another family member also wrote about the allegations in 2010.
Errol rejected the allegations regarding the stepson as “nonsense” and the allegations of his daughters as “absurd”.
Elon rejected it to comment on Times history.
Elon’s relationship with the father
Elon has commented on his difficult relationship with Errol over the years, albeit without details. In a Rolling Stone article from 2017, he described him as “a terrible person”. “My father will have a carefully planned plan of evil,” said Elon. “He will plan bad … You have no idea how bad. Almost every crime you can imagine has committed. He committed almost every evil deed that you can imagine.”
In Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of 2023, Elon said that his father was “uncomfortable” to his stepsister. He was angry with Errol because of his “inappropriate behavior”.
