Effe Seriously received a gold record on Sunday evening for their big summer hit Baila de Gasolina. The band with members from Schijndel and Liempde was surprised because the song has now streamed more than ten million times.
The men of Effe Seriously gave a party under the guise on Sunday evening under ‘Effe treats seriously’. Intended as a thank you for anyone who helped the band with the success of their record. It started as a joke, but grew into a much bigger party on Sunday. “With old -fashioned Kreketa and Frikandello,” says one of the band members on Sunday, referring to a text line from Baila de Gasolina.
The golden record was awarded by singer Jeroen van Zelst. “He said,” You get a golden record. “That was really magical,” says Stephan. “We saw the moment coming and when there is that moment, it feels super special,” says band member Stephan. “It feels euphoric and we are grateful for all the people who have supported us.”
The band members gave each other a ‘big fat hug’. “We took a drink to celebrate,” he says. “The appreciation of the public is really indescribable.”

Effe seriously said he has committed 250 percent from January. “If you are about to get a gold plate, it is as if you have skilled top sport. If you win that plate, that is a very beautiful and emotional moment.”
In the coming months, the Effe agenda is seriously full of performances. From the new year, the band looks ahead to new material. “Then we will work on a new album.”
What will the theme be? They don’t know exactly, but celebrate something with life. “Not too serious, because we are not ourselves either. It will be a party plate again. That album will certainly be there.” Stephan hopes for the same success. “We are dependent on the audience, but at least have set a trend.”
