A young girl who ran on a railway crossing in Vught on Sunday evening was escaped an approaching train just in time. The girl ran her bike on the track on Molenstraat, when the level crossing bubbles went off. She dropped her bike and ran off the track. The driver could no longer prevent a collision with the bike.
The incident happened around half past six. According to a police spokesperson, the girl was crossing when the barriers went down. She panicked, left her bike and made her gone away from the track.
According to a photographer on the spot it is a girl of about five years old. There was family in the neighborhood, but it is unclear whether they were there at the time of the accident.
Train traffic has been temporarily stopped. Because it is a small bicycle, the damage to the train has been limited. In the meantime the trains run there again.
