“Incredibly bitter”: for the third time in 18 months – cruciate ligament rupture near Cologne Kilian

Job message for 1. FC Köln: Defender Luca Kilian has contracted another cruciate ligament tear and fails for several months.

The 26-year-old injured himself on Monday in training the football-Bundesliga clubs, an MRI examination confirmed the severe diagnosis. “It is incredibly bitter that Luca is now affected for the third time. As a FC family, we will accompany him closely and give him the best possible support,” said sports director Thomas Kessler.

Third cruciate ligament rupture in one and a half years

For Kilian it is already the third violation of this kind within a year and a half. Previously, the central defender had suffered a cruciate ligament tear at the end of March 2024 and in December 2024.

Kilian completed his last professional game over 90 minutes for the second division champion in the 1-5 defeat against Leipzig in March 2024.
