Drs. LP (Leo Pieter) Stoel becomes mayor of the municipality of De Fryske Marren. On the proposal of Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Council of Ministers decided to nominate him for appointment. The appointment starts on September 22, 2025.

Mr Stoel (62 years old) is a member of the VVD. He is currently mayor of the municipality of Ameland.
Klaas Agricola is currently acting mayor of the municipality of De Fryske Marren.
