With “Prism” John Butler released his tenth studio album on September 5th. It is the first work after the official farewell to the name John Butler Trio. At the same time, a live video for the Leadsary “Going Solo” appeared.

“Prism” as the third chapter of the “Four Season” series
The new album is part of Butler’s “Four Season” series, which started with “Running River” and “Still Searching”. It was produced together with James Ireland (Pond, San Cisco). Musically, Butler relies on a mix of guitar riffs, percussion elements and catchy chorus.
The pieces move between festival -suitable songs, rock numbers and ballads. In terms of content, it is about topics such as love, loss and politics. Butler emphasizes that he was heavily inspired by his early years as a street musician. The songs initially emerged alone before finalizing the recordings with Ireland.

From the end of October, John Butler will go on a European tour with a new band. In addition to the former JBT member Michael Barker (drums), Michael Boase (drums) and Ian Peres (bass/keyboards) play along. The Australian musician Noah Dillon has been announced as support.
