On the last day of the transfer period, Wolfsburg signed Jenson Seelt. A club from its Dutch homeland apparently also liked it.

The change of defender Jenson Seelt to VfL Wolfsburg caused great trouble in his Dutch homeland. Because the first division Nec Nijmegen also wanted to borrow the 22-year-old and is now angry with the AFC Sunderland association from England.

“Suddenly we saw him in the Wolfsburg jersey yesterday afternoon,” said NEC managing director Wilco van Schaik in a program by the TV station ESPN. A change to Nijmegen was already “decided” for him.

Sunderland and Nijmegen successfully implemented the goalkeeper Robin Roef’s transfer to England several weeks ago. Both clubs had “agreed verbally that we would also take over,” said van Schaik.

The Premier League climber would have held the Dutch afterwards and then awarded the coveted player to Wolfsburg on the last day of the transfer period. “You shouldn’t do business like this. This is really the ugly side of football,” said the NEC boss.

Nijmegen’s technical director Carlos Aalbers was even angry than he was, said van Schaik. “He sent Sunderland an SMS:” I regret that I sold Roefs to you. “”
