A thunderstorm was drawn on Monday evening between 7 pm and 9 pm over the Wervik-Menen-Kortrijk region. With here and there fierce rainfall and in Wervik also a lightning strike in a house in the Duivenstraat. The lightning found a home on the second floor. The residents were at home and were able to intervene quickly. With buckets of water they extinguish the starting fire, which threatened to spread through the ventilation channels of the home. The fire brigade arrived and then also checked the house for further danger. The house remains habitable.
