There is activity in the technical service shed. Thousands of flowers are carefully placed on the cars, a real monk work.
“Some flowers even have to be nailed and every flower literally goes through the hands of the volunteers,” explains director Davy de Wolf. “Our city car consists of around 1,200 paper beach flowers, as they used to be sold to the children on the beach. That way we refer to the emergence of the parade, 130 years ago.”
