RTL 4 boss Peter van der Vorst prevents Gerard Joling from making the switch to SBS 6. He records the singer for three years, despite his conservative views. “Very good move.”
It is no secret that Peter van der Vorst and Gerard Joling are directly opposite each other when it comes to their views and their ideas. Peter finds Geer so conservative that he even threw his program Joling and the foreigners ineffects in the trash. Too bad, says Geer, but in the end RTL pays him royal.
Glitter bed
In terms of thought, Gerard would fit perfectly with the conservative circus on SBS 6, but Peter prevents a transfer. He has recorded Geer for three years.
RTL Boulevard presenter Lex Uitge reports in the show section: “Gerard Joling can crawl back under his glitter cookie in the coming period, knowing that his TV-seecage is comfortable with RTL. The singer has signed for three years.”
Good move
TV connoisseur Rob Goossens thinks it is smart from RTL. “An excellent move. I think Gerard is the pepper and salt of this transmitter.”
He concludes: “There is always work for him. His reality soap has of course done it fantastic, goes a second season, so I would almost say: record that man for life, because there is plenty to do.”
