The Carlo and Ron Boszhard brothers, known respectively from drag shows and TV bombs, are both there considerably. While Carlo half collapses on Oxford Street, Ron spontaneously releases the cornea.
Carlo Boszhard has been a large star on RTL 4 for decades that is surrounded with glitter and glamor, while brother Ron always remained a bit the bumbling second violin. He makes the children’s program Bommetje, but is actually best known as ‘the brother of’. Anyway: both gentlemen were recently in the rag basket.
Drama in London
Carlo has experienced something horrible on an ordinary day in London. “There I stand, half leaning against a tree on Oxford Street. Those are moments when he’s happy that no one recognizes you. My face starts with pain, because a few seconds before that I went through my right ankle,” he writes in Televizier.
That ankle is a very weak spot. “I often call that mockingly my monster from Toth-Opel. The Telekids generation knows what I am talking about: it was the last film I made with Irene. I did a scene, had to run away quickly and went-bam-by my ankle. The film was just finished, but later I kept bothering it.”
Weakness
What turned out? “The ankle was not bruised but broken. Even now it is still a weak spot. For The Moulin Rouge I always tape it in. I hadn’t done that that day in London. But luckily, nothing broken this time. So on to the stores. And to the beautiful musicals that London has to offer.”
In the meantime, brother Ron is not doing much better at home. “Well, I had a lot to endure in a short time. Suddenly I was dealing with shear rose. I had it on my back and on my shoulder, but I also saw photos of people who had it in their face and on their arms. Fortunately I didn’t have that,” he says in the party.
“It’s sour”
What if it had been on his face with Ron? “Then I would have had to let the recordings shoot. Then someone else would have had to present Bommetje. I would have found that sour! So in a sense I was lucky. Still, shingles is not exactly nice just before a recording period. But I said to myself:” Come on Boszhard, don’t nag! “
Then something was added. “The cornea was released in one eye. We can get all that, but if you get older, then that cornea stretches a bit and it can happen more easily. They have solved it by welding it again. Now I can say that I am lasered and welded.”
