FC Schalke 04 is still on the road to success with coach Miron Muslic. On the third matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga, a 2-1 (0: 0) success, the third victory in the fourth competitive game under the Austrian, who was only committed in summer, achieved a 2-1 (0: 0) success with a late double strike. And Muslic showed a particularly happy hand that evening.
Because the two Schalke goal scorers Hasan Kuruçay (71st minute) and Bryan Lasme (79th) had only substituted the coach a few minutes earlier. Thanks to the hit by Gerrit Holtmann (65th), the Bochumers still led 1-0. But Bochum was not enough to win one goal at the first meeting of the two teams in the 2nd league. The last Bochum success against the neighbor dates from February 2009 – at that time Manuel Neuer was still in Schalke Tor. They had a big chance early on.
Defense chief Kevin Vogt failed in the 25th minute from the penalty point to goalkeeper Loris Karius. Goalkeeper Karius bounced off a shot from Mats Pannewig, Holtmann reacted fastest and pushed the ball into the far corner. But the Schalke came back – and how. The shot of Finn Porath, who was only committed by Holstein Kiel, steered Kuruçay into the goal to equalize and lasme made the final score shortly afterwards.
