Oscar winner Nicolas Cage is about to take over the main role in the fifth season of the HBO crime thriller “True Detective”. The new season will play in Jamaica Bay, New York, and starts at HBO in 2027.
Author and show runner Isa López, who was already responsible for the celebrated fourth season “True Detective: Night Country”. This season reached 12.7 million viewers: inside and made Jodie Foster the Emmy and Golden Globe winner.

Severe allegations
At the beginning of the year, Cage made headlines privately when his ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton submitted a lawsuit. She not only accused her son of Weston together that she had attacked her during a dispute, but also blamed Cage for his behavior and failure to help. Fulton claims that Cage had favored Weston’s problematic behavior through financial support and alcohol consumption.
Both Cage’s lawyer and Weston’s lawyer rejected the allegations and described the lawsuit as absurd or an attempt to attain “money and attention”.
