There are newcomers for the Rolling Stone Beach 2025! Seven other acts complete the top-class line-up for this year’s program (21st and 22nd November) in the holiday and leisure park Weissenhäuser Strand. New are:

Mogwai

A great premiere: The Scottish band Mogwai is almost as old as the German edition of the Rolling Stone, it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year-and it is playing at the beach for the first time! In the spring, her current, eleventh studio album “The Bad Fire” showed that Mogwai does not show any signs of fatigue, on the contrary. Rarely stuart braithwaite and colleagues sounded so brutal – and again they don’t need many words. Your post-rock speaks for herself and lives from the unique atmosphere that Mogwai always generate-whether with psychedelic feedback storms, detailed dream pop or explosive guitar riffs. And they also have black humor, see songs like “If you find this world bad, you should see some of the other”. There may not be much hope anymore, but there are still Mogwai. That will be something!

We are scientists

Somewhere between The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and Interpol was still space in the pleasantly densely populated indie rock landscape of the zero years. The band founded in Berkeley, California with smart guitar pop in Berkeley, California. In the meantime, We Are Scientists have skinned several times without scratching their musical DNA. This is how singer Keith Murray and bass player Chris Cain bundle on the current album, “Qualifying Miles”, all their skills for an intoxicating sound painting from New Wave, Shoegaze, Folk, Psychedelic Nuances and Hymnic Roaring, which should even inspire fans of Manic Street Pracher.

Friska Viljor

Friska Viljor

Since 2005, Joakim Sveningsson and Daniel Johansson – both responsible for singing and various string instruments – have been traveling as Friska Viljor. For the 20th band anniversary, the Swedes give themselves the album “Revisited”, on which they present their own songs in acoustic revisions, reduce their folk to the essentials and sometimes close near American grand masters such as Sufjan Stevens. The duo from Stockholm, which is extremely popular in Germany, also masters rockier registers, but at the best moments, Friska Viljor sound as reliably as the noise of Swedish forests.

The stars

The funniest and smartest band in the Hamburg school, from which singers Frank Spilker and Co. have long since emancipated themselves. On many wonderful albums, EPS and singles, the stars have continued to expand their very own sound, furnished it and planted with love for the everyday absurdities of life. Finally documented on the great “Hello Euphoria” (2022) and the “Grandezza” career review (2024). Unlike some colleagues: Inside, the stars never dealt with intellectual versions, but very unironically about the fun of making music, radio rhythms, slacker pop and rock without thick eggs.

Night moves

Six years have passed between the masterful “Can You Really Find Me” (2019), the last album of the band from Minneapoli, and the “Double Life” published in 2025. The expectations were correspondingly high. Singer and songwriter John Pelant has not disappointed a single one. “Double Life” is the point from which Pelant looks back, recorded balance, in the form of uplifting Americana and pop music, somewhere between Ryan Adams and Tamen Impala. But he also looks ahead, marveled at the growing up of love and looks at empathy, on which detours friends and passing by mastering life.

Finn Forster

Sometimes one is surprised that a songwriter has already published several singles and EPS, but still no longplayer has been released. In the case of Finn Forster, this means that he had enough time to develop in peace. The talent of the artist, born in Middlebrough in English, definitely seems quite mature. British radio stations have received as enthusiastically his soul-soaked folk pop and rock songs as prominent acts, for which Forster was allowed to play in the pre-program, such as on the 2025 tour of the stereophonic. His likeable shirt -sleeved hymns have the right role models.

Old Mervs

It has long been time for a revival of the zero-band sound. Maybe thought singers and guitarist David House and drummer Henry Carrington-Jones when they founded the Old Mervs in the Australian Perth in 2017. After many hours of rehearsal space, a few EPS and sold -out tours by Down Under, they felt ready to publish their debut album bristling with self -confidence in March of this year. Old Mervs combine the virtues of The Kooks and early Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight and Emperor Chiefs. The riffs, harmonies and hooks that shake the duo out of the sleeve seem to have survived from a better indie rock era.

Oska

Maria Burger alias Oska has exactly the admirers that you need for a successful career start. Tom Odell discovered the Austrian singer and songwriter in 2021 at the Reeperbahn Festival, in the summer of 2024 she played four stadium concerts in Vienna with her band as a support of Coldplay. Between a rather rural everyday life in her homeland and trips to London, Oska found the creative recipe, which lifts her current album “Refined Believer” from the great contemporary folk pop plates. Her finely chased songs told about love and trust are reminiscent of Norah Jones and Suzanne Vega.

The supporting program and the timetable will be announced at a later date. All information about the festival and tickets are available HERE.
