Billy Joel, the man who brought us “Piano Man” (1973), “Uptown Girl” (1983) and “We Didn’t Start the Fire” (1989), is currently faced with health challenges. Now he auctions his motorcycle collection in Oyster Bay.
Diagnosis forces auction
In May 2025, he was diagnosed with a normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). In doing so, liquid accumulates in the brain and can lead to memory problems, equilibrium, as well as hearing and visual disturbances. NPH is treatable, but Joel canceled all planned concerts as a precaution until July 2026.
Now the artist decided to put his preference for motorcycles on hold. “Due to a recent medical diagnosis, Billy will be his Motorcycle collection Auction this year, ”said his press spokesman.

The 76-year-old musician has been running his motorcycle workshop since 2010 “20th Century Cycles”.
