The abrupt departure of Malou Petter as presenter of News of the Day has frowned a lot of eyebrows, especially because she has no other job. What’s behind it? “She didn’t want with Wierd.”
Malou Petter has taken her legs: after her vacation she does not return as a presenter of News of the Day and had her contract with Talpa dissolved. She would be ashamed of her progressive friends, but she knew from the start that she would be the face of a pretty conservative program?
Not with wierd
TV critic Victor Vlam thinks it wasn’t that crowd with her colleagues, and especially one person in particular. “The inconvenience just dripped off often. You just saw that she didn’t like to sit at the table with those right -wing opinion makers, probably because she doesn’t have much with it herself, with that sound.”
He continues in the podcast Victor explains TV: “From the rumor mill at Talpa, I also learned that she actually didn’t want to sit at the table with Wierd Duk anymore. In the beginning he naturally had a clash with art, so then she was constantly getting Wierd. At one point she made a point of it.”
Serious problem
Malou didn’t want to be at the table that often with Wierd, says Victor. “Yes, in the end she didn’t want to sit with him that often anymore, but that is of course a huge problem, because he is one of the load -bearing faces of that program.”
He continues: “It is a reason for many viewers to look at that program, just as Johan Derksen is a reason to look at Inside today, so if you can’t get along with him, that’s really a problem.”
Fox News
Victor thinks that Malou’s progressive friends, including Renze Klamer and Tom van ‘t Eine, talked to her. “Yes, I think a lot of people were talking about her:” Yes, this program is bad for you. You will never get to us again when this program stops. “
“And that has to do with the fact that news of the day by NRC, Volkskrant and also by Tim Hofman is put away as a kind of Dutch Fox News. For the sake of clarity: it really isn’t. I know Fox News very well and that is simply not comparable. (…) But that is the frame they use.”
Panic
Apparently Malou feared at one point before her career, Victor concludes. “Those friends talk to you in:” Yes, you have to say your job quickly, what else you are ready for the rest of your life and you won’t get anywhere if this stops. ” And at some point you will panic yourself. ”
It is not yet known who will succeed Malou as presenter of News of the Day. There is also speculation about Art Rooijakkers and whether he may follow her example.
