TSV 1860 Munich won its first home game of the new season in the 3rd division against VfL Osnabrück. The new additions showed their quality in 3: 1, but at over 30 degrees the lions played passively in the meantime.
In plump sun and over 30 degrees on the heights of Giesing, the Sechzger won 3: 1 (2: 0) thanks to the new offensive newcomers. With a mixture of phases worth seeing and the interim passivity against VfL Osnabrück, TSV 1860 Munich has a home game victory in the new season.
Kevin Volland “nobody runs around”
How can you crack a compact team like VfL Osnabrück? You use standard situations. The lions did that in the tenth minute. Tunay Deniz chipped a free kick into the penalty area, where Kevin Volland (in the not guessed offside) prevailed against sociable Osnabrücker and raised the ball into the far corner.
“He used to be an ice hockey player-nobody runs around,” praised co-commentator and Löwen-Legende Benny Lauth the goal scorers in the BR broadcast. Volland scored his first goal of the professional career in January 2011 against VfL Osnabrück. It is only logical that the Marktoberdorfer celebrates his premiere goal after the return against the Lower Saxony.

In 1860, the game control to VfL also defended, but also released the game: “Unnecessary, because it is so passive, but the most important thing is that they are good at the back,” said Lauth, commenting on the weaker phase of the sixties.
A standard in the 41st minute put an end to the guests’ efforts. Deniz brought a throw -in in front of the gate, on the first post Jesper Verlaat extended to Volland, who screwed up, but only hit the post. The ball crashed into the feet of Florian Niederlechner. The striker did not miss the chance and increased to 2-0.

In this game, the top-class offensive newcomers showed exactly what they had hoped for. Sigurd Haugen also had several good chances (14th, 22nd, 37th and 38th minute) before increasing a good five minutes after the restart from a short distance. Niederlechner had done the preparatory work with a run over the left side.
The lions then allowed Osnabrück to set up again. In the 61st minute, goalkeeper Thomas Dähne saved, five minutes later Bernd Mielselmann missed the empty goal, but in the 75th minute the deserved connection hit by Patrick Kammerbauer. The VfL did not want to give up, but the lions defended well over long distances and no longer made it exciting.
